Vineatitaly

Our growers

The Italian wines come from the growers themselves. Everything else comes through merchants who have earned the trust.

Italy, direct from the estates

The Italian wines come from eleven estates, most of them under ten hectares. We taste the vintage in their cellar, take what they can spare, and when it is gone the name comes off the site. We do not restock just to keep the page full.

It means the list changes. A Barolo that was here in spring may be gone by summer, replaced by the next vintage or by nothing at all. If you find one you love, buy two.

Bordeaux and Champagne, through merchants

Bordeaux and Champagne reach us through négociants and importers we have bought from for years. Every case ships from bonded storage with its provenance documented, which matters more the older and dearer the bottle gets.

The Champagne comes from two of the great houses, Moët and Ruinart. The Bordeaux is chosen from the vintages the trade agrees on, not the ones the magazines are shouting about.

Where the bottles come from

Every region on the list right now, with what we are pouring from it.
